The children's clinical hospital №5 of N.F.Filatov (St.-Petersburg)

The children's clinical hospital (CCCH) №5 of N.F.Filatov is a modern versatile hospital for children and teenagers. A hospital mission is "round-the-clock" medical aid to patients and the psychological help to their parents.

CCCH№5 is leading in the general St.Petersburg hospital stock (665 beds, 2009).

In terms of the number of patients treated (in 2008) CCCH№5 ranks first in St. Petersburg (32888 patients), CCCH№5 may be considered a high-capacity multi-field in-patient hospital designed to meet public requirements for in-patient care in St. Petersburg imposed by patients aged between 0 and 18 years.

Our strengths are as follows:
- Significant management experience of the chief hospital physician;
- High staff potential and a strong scientific base;
- Introduction of MES;
- The leading position in St. Petersburg with regard to the hospital stock and the number of patients treated – by infectious disease ward, neurosurgery, traumatology, gastroenterology and ENT departments;
- Laboratory diagnostic facilities continuous updating (1-2 times annually). The highest capacity neurosurgery, traumotology departments in the city; - 22 new endo-videosurgery methods introduced;
- The only gynecological department in the city;
- Round-the-clock operation of the endoscopic service.

Since 2003 the hospital team has laid down to itself the aim to become the leader of public health services in Russia. One of task on this way is permanent improvement of quality of service. In this connection the Policy of Quality has been developed. We have already achieved considerable successes in this direction. In 2006 the hospital became the Winner of the award of International fund "Profession-Life" in a nomination "For achievements in the field of clinical medicine".
In 2008 the hospital has taken an honourable second place in competition of the Award of the St.-Petersburg's Administration on quality.
In 2008 we have started certification on conformity to the international quality standard ISO 9001.
